Izuchen i proanalizirovan opyt sozdaniya, razmescheniya i oformleniya podpisey na mul'timasshtabnyh kartah. Shematichno predstavleny razrabotannye obschie i chastnye principy konstruirovaniya i raspolozheniya takih podpisey. V sootvetstvii s ukazannymi principami predlozhena i poetapno opisana metodika razmescheniya podpisey geograficheskih nazvaniy na mul'timasshtabnoy karte na primere sozdaniya podpisey naselennyh punktov i ob'ektov gidrografii. Formirovanie podpisey na masshtabnyh urovnyah karty rekomenduetsya provodit' v posledovatel'nosti ot krupnogo masshtaba k melkomu. Dlya naselennyh punktov predlagaetsya al'ternativnyy podhod, osnovannyy na poocherednom sozdanii tekstovyh ob'ektov po principu ukrupneniya masshtaba ot samogo melkogo masshtaba karty, chto pozvolit podpisyam naibolee znachimyh naselennyh punktov zanyat' nailuchshee polozhenie i sohranit' ego na vseh masshtabnyh urovnyah. Predlagaemye podhody opisany na primere masshtabnogo ryada, sformirovannogo po principu dvukratnogo umen'sheniya masshtaba. Rassmotreny osobennosti avtomatizirovannogo sozdaniya i razmescheniya podpisey geograficheskih nazvaniy na tematicheskoy mul'timasshtabnoy karte, gde neobhodimo uchityvat' ispol'zuemye sposoby kartograficheskogo izobrazheniya ob'ektov i yavleniy na kazhdom masshtabnom urovne. Predlagaemye metodicheskie resheniya pozvolyat obespechit' korrektnoe i soglasovannoe razmeschenie podpisey nazvaniy naselennyh punktov i ob'ektov gidrografii na vseh cifrovyh kartograficheskih osnovah mul'timasshtabnoy karty.
